Megachurch pastor says slavery should have been abolished only by “gospel gradualism,” not by force
Anyone more than passingly familiar with the Bible is aware that it condones, or at least tolerates, slavery (see HERE). And history shows that many an opponent of abolition in the 19th century was known to quote the Good Book in defense of slavery.
But it’s shocking in the 21st century to read these words from Doug Wilson (above), a prominent preacher in our own day and age:
