State of the roads of the state

Rick Holmes

Purely anecdotal, but as I note in my column today, backed up by statistical measures.  Nationwide, one bridge out of four has been rated either structurally deficient or functionally obsolete by the Federal Highway Administration. In Massachusetts, it’s one in two.

I’m interested in the anecdotal evidence other people have from their travels in other states. Who is taking good care of their roads, who isn’t, and why aren’t we doing a better job?
