Etna woman arrested on suspicion of setting deadly fire
An Etna woman was arrested yesterday on suspicion of arson and murder in connection with a deadly fire that destroyed a home and killed a man early Tuesday morning, Aug. 6.
Jayah Jordan, age 23, was arrested by an Etna Police investigator for arson and murder-related offenses, according to Jayme Lynch, spokesperson for the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department.
The Siskiyou County Arson Team, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit and CAL FIRE are investigating the fire, which broke out around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death of the victim, whose identity hasn’t yet been released.
