College of the Siskiyous is in the process of hiring a new superintendent/president who will, among many other duties, oversee a campus in Weed that has been recognized as one of the most beautiful community college locations. That beauty was on display over the weekend as the COS baseball and softball teams played home games.

College of the Siskiyous has announced that a first review of applicants for the superintendent/president position is continuing, and interviews with candidates will be held this month.

Between three and five candidates are expected to be selected as finalists, and they will be invited to participate in community forums at the Weed campus, according to a COS press release.

The forums, scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, will be open to students, faculty, staff and community members in the Kenneth W. Ford Theater on the COS campus in Weed. Times have yet to be announced.

During the forums, candidates will have an opportunity to share their visions for the College and answer questions from audience members, according to the release.

COS began the process of finding a replacement for superintendent/president Scotty Thomason in January after announcing in December that he will retire on June 30, at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.
