The National Weather Service in Medford, Ore., has issued a fire weather watch through Friday morning for the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Siskiyou County, from the Cascade Mountains, east and south to Mt. Shasta and Modoc County, except for the Surprise Valley-Klamath Basin and the Fremont-Winema National Forest.

According to the NWS:

Increasing thunderstorm activity is expected to create erratic fire behavior in Modoc and eastern Siskiyou Counties and in south central Oregon.

Isolated thunderstorm activity to the south is expected to increase through Thursday before dissipating overnight.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
