The final Mill Fire update anticipated by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest reported the wildfire that started Thursday afternoon two miles east of the Roseburg mill in Weed was 100 percent contained at 56 acres as of Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

Precipitation continued Saturday while crews continued to secure containment lines, and a predicted wet weather pattern during the next few days is expected to help “as firefighters continue to patrol and monitor the fire and take care of any potential threat to the containment lines,” according to information posted at:

One hundred personnel were involved in the suppression effort as the fire of unknown origin burned in a 40 to 50 year old pine plantation.
