A Siskiyou Media Council film crew was in Dunsmuir last Wednesday filming local business activity portraying daily life in the downtown area.

Working with cinematographer Dave McAdams, freelance producer/director Paris Petrick said they are producing a “Dunsmuir After the Delta Fire” PSA, in an effort to reframe Dunsmuir’s image as a destination location following the recent decline in tourism due to the heavy wildfire smoke this year.

Petrick, a Siskiyou Media Council board member, spoke briefly of the Council’s plans to eventually create similar promotional PSAs for other towns in Siskiyou County. She also mentioned future plans to coordinate with local high schools, to teach students the cinematography/filmmaking skills needed to equip a new generation of Siskiyou Media Council film crews in Siskiyou County.
