Dunsmuir citizens honored: former mayor, volunteer

Former mayor/city council member Ed Steele and city/events volunteer Linda Price are being honored as Dunsmuir’s top citizens for 2014.

Chosen by a committee of former recipients Tuesday evening, April 7, Steele was named Citizen of the Year, and Price will receive the Alexander Dunsmuir award.

They will be honored during an awards banquet scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 6 p.m. at POPS Performing Arts & Cultural Center, 5819 Sacramento Avenue in Dunsmuir. It will begin with a social hour and is being catered by Dogwood Diner Chef Kate Chadwick.

Tickets for the Citizen of the Year banquet are on sale at the Pizza Factory in Dunsmuir. Cost is $25 per person. Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, April 22. No tickets will be sold at the door. Seating is limited.

The banquet menu features Mediterranean salad, baked chicken with artichokes, roasted mushrooms, wild and brown rice, fresh green beans with lemon and almond butter, and lemon pinwheel cake. There will be a no-host bar.
