Dunsmuir Railroad Days River Run is Saturday

Dunsmuir will be celebrating Railroad Days Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 10 to 12, and one of the featured events is Saturday morning’s River Run.

Online registration for the 2 and 5 mile races remains open until Friday.

Train trophies will be awarded for the top male and female in both races. Custom ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third in each age group.

Friday, June 10

3 to 6 p.m. – Vendor booths open, Upper Pine Street.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Dunsmuir Deport Museum exhibits.

Saturday, June 11

8 to 9:30 a.m. – River Run, Dunsmuir Avenue, $.

8 to 10:30 a.m. – Dunsmuir Rotary Pancake Breakfast, Dunsmuir Apartments parking lot, $.

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Vendors open, Upper Pine Street.

10 to 11:30 a.m. – Little Mr. and Miss Engineer Contest, Children’s Park, $.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Dunsmuir Depot Museum exhibits.

11:30 a.m. – Iron Spike Award, Pine Street information booth.

Noon to 1 p.m. – Railroad Days Parade, Dunsmuir Avenue to Sacramento Avenue.

1 to 3:30 p.m. – Youth Boxcar Derby, Dunsmuir Avenue.

Noon to 5 p.m. – Kids’ Activities, Children’s Park, Dunsmuir Avenue, $.

1 to 5 p.m. – Build a Train Workshop, Children’s Park.

1 to 5 p.m. – Dunk Tank, Children’s Park, $.

1 to 6 p.m. – Live entertainment, Pine Street, Performance Stage.

2 p.m. – Parade Awards, Pine Street, Performance Stage.

3 to 3:30 p.m. – Watermelon Eating Contest, Children’s Park.

3:30 p.m. – Youth Boxcar Derby Awards, Pine Street, Performance Stage.

8:30 p.m. – Pyrate Technics Fire Show, Upper Pine Street.

Sunday, June 12

8:30 to 11:30 a.m. – North Town Adult Boxcar Derby Exhibition, Cedar Lodge, Dunsmuir Avenue.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Vendors open, Upper Pine Street. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Dunsmuir Depot Museum exhibits. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Build a Train People’s Choice judging, Upper Pine Street. 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. – Live entertainment, Pine Street, Performance Stage. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Show & Shine Car Show, city parking lot, Dunsmuir Avenue, $. 10 to 11 a.m. – Hula Hoop Contest, Children’s Park, Dunsmuir Avenue. Noon to 3 p.m. – Adult Boxcar Derby, Dunsmuir Avenue, $. Noon to 4 p.m. – Dunk Tank, Children’s Park, $. 3:30 p.m. – Button Raffle Drawing, Upper Pine Street.
