Weed Senior van clarification

The Weed Senior van, purchased by the City of Weed and operated by the Weed Recreation and Parks District, will provide transportation for Weed’s seniors who live within the recreation district boundaries for medical and hospital appointments, shopping in Weed, and activities organized by the Family and Community Resource Center of Weed, according district administrator Mike Rodriguez. For transportation requests and information call the Weed Recreation and Parks District at 938-4685 Monday through Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Senior Meal Program

Family and Community Resource Center of Weed Program Director Andrea Herr said the Senior Meal program is free to Weed seniors, but donations to help out with the program will be gladly accepted. For seniors attending who live outside the recreation district, a $3 donation is requested, and they must have their own transportation. The Senior Meal program is beginning on April 24 at the Weed Berean Church. For more information on the meal program call the resource center at 938-9914.
