Dunsmuir Rotary invites the public to join its free pasta dinner to honor the members of the Dunsmuir-Castella Volunteer Fire Department and the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, Oct. 26 at the Dunsmuir Community Building.

The event starts with a reception and no-host bar at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The dinner consists of pasta with choice of vegetarian or meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, and dessert.

Those being honored are ready to put their safety and lives on the line 24-hours a day, every day of the year. But their willingness to sacrifice for the good of their community was made particularly evident this summer during the Delta Fire, a Rotary press release states.

Dunsmuir Rotary has invited these local heroes to the dinner to thank them in person. And they hope community members also attend to thank them. They ask that you invite other fire fighters or law enforcement people who have helped keep us safe this summer.

The club will be collecting monetary donations at the dinner to donate to fire relief efforts in Siskiyou and northern Shasta counties.
