Suspect arrested in Fort Jones murder

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Mr. James Albert Henderling, 56, of Fort Jones for the murder of Mr. Daniel Mark English, according to a press release.

Mr. English’s body was found on Monday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2014 under the Kelsey Creek Bridge in the Fort Jones area. An autopsy was conducted and the results, along with toxicology tests, are pending analysis and review by investigators and forensic experts.

Additional investigative follow-up is being conducted and will continue during the next several days and weeks, the release stated. However, initial investigative leads and evidence led investigators of the department’s Major Crimes Unit to focus on associates of the victim, which ultimately led to Mr. Henderling’s arrest.

Mr. Henderling was booked on murder charges and is currently lodged without bail at the Siskiyou County Jail.
