City of Weed offers assistance to utility customers affected by government shutdown
The City of Weed announced this week that it is offering a deferred payment plan for utilities to its customers affected by the federal government shutdown.
The deferral, according to a press release, “will be effective until normal payroll operations resume, without interest or penalty, to those who are furloughed or working without pay.”
To request a deferral, affected federal employees should contact the City’s Finance Department and provide the City with evidence of furlough or non-payment for work.
