Results of statewide, district races compared to Siskiyou

If Siskiyou County voters had their way, State Proposition 42, which deals with public records, open meetings and reimbursements, would not be successful.
However, when you mix in results from the rest of California, the proposition passed by a wide margin.
Siskiyou voters most often chose Republican Peter Peterson for Secretary of State in Tuesday’s Primary Election.
Statewide, voters selected Democrat Alex Padilla is the frontrunner for the position, which will be vacated by Debra Bowen, who is unable to run for a third term due to term limits.
Peterson and Padilla will have a runoff in the General Election on November 4, as will all the top two vote getters in each state race, regardless of their political party or if there were only two choices on Tuesday’s ballot.
Following are “Semi-Official” results for statewide and district contests, as reported by Bowen’s office, as well as Siskiyou County results, according to the Final Election Night Results Summary from County Clerk Colleen Setzer’s office.
