Letters to the Editor: Donald Trump

Once again, Donald Trump never ceases to amaze. In a recent press briefing, (which he describes as opportunities for “free-air time and good ratings”) Mr. Trump revealed to the world that his thinking is based on his gastrointestinal track.

That actually explains a lot.

In the face of the disastrous global health and humanitarian crisis with the pandemic COVID-19 virus, Trump stated “What do I know? I am not a doctor.” He then went on to defy advice of medical experts and scientists and suggest people have “nothing to lose” by following his irresponsible, reckless, and dangerous suggestion to use an untried drug. His administration’s handling of this crisis has already caused plenty of loss!

In many matters, Donald Trump continues to display extreme hubris and arrogance with his utter disdain for expertise and knowledge, and woe to those who disagree with him or his agenda. His illogical ever-changing decisions and erratic ideation in critical matters combined with his incredible self-absorption are a serious problem.

We can only hope, for all of our sake, that cooler heads and experience, solid knowledge, common sense, careful thought, and human kindness will somehow prevail as we move forward in this very difficult time in history.
