The tenth annual Shasta Mountain Shootout is slated for June 21-22 near the Lake Siskiyou campground in Mount Shasta.

Competitors can pre-register by June 13 to reduce their entry fees.

National Field Archery Association and California Bowman Hunter members are eligible to win pins for a first, second and third place finish in the shootout.

Competitors of all ages with the necessary equipment are encouraged to compete and non-members can compete as registered guests.

“We like to put a lot of emphasis on the kids,” said Harry Stock of the Shasta Mountain Archers. Family and  couple discounts are being offered.

A free Mexican dinner also is being offered for volunteers willing to help set up a day prior to the event.

“We could use the help and are still searching for volunteers,” Stock said.

The dinner is open to all competitors. Entry fees range from $6 for pee wees to $33 for families with discounts for preregistration.

Stock expects about 125 archers to compete from as far as Sacramento.
