Bears face Central Valley for Yreka Invitational title

The Mount Shasta Bears and their fans have had plenty to cheer about the first two nights of the Yreka Invitational. Mount Shasta is scheduled to play Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 in the tournament championship game.

The Mount Shasta High School boys basketball team is scheduled to play Central Valley for the Yreka Miner Invitational tournament championship Saturday night, Dec. 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Bears defeated Del Norte on Friday to advance to the title game.

“We took a big step forward,” head coach Kirk Andrus said of the way the Bears played against Del Norte, a school that has won many tournament titles at Yreka in the past decade.

Mount Shasta opened the Yreka Tournament Thursday night with an overtime win against the host Miners.
