Two more soccer shutouts for Bears

John Holst scored four goals and had one assist and Austin Herrick scored three  goals in Mount Shasta High School’s 8-0 soccer victory over Fall River Oct. 5 in Mount Shasta.

Miller Sbarbaro scored the Bears’ other goal, while Andrew Campbell, Allison Titus, Paul Thelander and Kathryn Andrus all had one assist each.

Assistant coach Marie Kennedy said Fall River is a much quicker team than the Bears’ two league opponents the previous week with good ball handling skills and a constant fast break threat.

The Bears went on to improve their league record to 4-0 with a 4-0 win over Weed on Thursday, Oct. 7 in Mount Shasta.

Holst scored two goals and Campbell and Herrick had one each against Weed. Titus had 2 assists and Chance Jackson 1.

The Bears have won their first four league games by a cumulative score of 31-0.
