Updated playoff schedule: Thursday and Friday night quarterfinals

Both teams earned high seeds in the Northern Section Division V playoffs and are scheduled to host quarterfinal games this week.

The Mount Shasta girls and Dunsmuir boys basketball teams are both scheduled to play quarterfinal playoff games Thursday night.

Mount Shasta, the No. 3 seed in Division V, is scheduled to host No. 6 Biggs Thursday night at 7 p.m.

Cougars, Bears, three other SCL teams advance in girls playoffs

Dunsmuir, the No. 10 seed in Division VI, is scheduled to play at No. 2 Redding Christian in Palo Cedro at 7 p.m.

Tigers open postseason with a road win

On Friday night, Weed High School, for the first time ever, will host a girls and boys playoff doubleheader. The Lady Cougars, seeded No. 2 in Division V, are scheduled to play No. 6 Biggs at 6:30 p.m. That game will be followed by the No. 3 Weed boys facing No. 6 Hamilton at 8 p.m.

Mount Shasta's boys, the No. 4 seed, are scheduled to square off against No. 5 Pierce Friday night at 7 p.m. in Mount Shasta.

Cougars and Bears romp in playoff openers

Quarterfinal winners advance to next week's semifinals, scheduled to be played at the home of the higher seed Tuesday night, Feb. 26 (Division V girls and Division VI boys), and Wednesday night, Feb. 27 (Division V boys).

Division VI championship games are scheduled for March 1. Division V championship games are scheduled for March 2.
