Bring your binoculars: Plenty of celebrity-sighting opportunities at the BNP Paribas Open
Having the best tennis players in the world roll into Indian Wells every year brings in tennis fans of all types, including the celebrity type.
A popular pastime for fans with binoculars is to peruse the wood-colored champion's box behind the south baseline on Stadium 1 to see if any celebrities are in attendance.
Earlier in the week, NBA stars and former teammates Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash were in the building watching Carlos Alcaraz play. They were seated right next to the billionaire owner of the tournament Larry Ellison.
Super Bowl champion quarterback Patrick Mahomes was in and out of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in a flash during the first three days of the tournament.
On Thursday, a champion from a different sport, Sugar Ray Leonard, graced Stadium 1 and got a nice round of applause from the crowd when he was shown on the scoreboard.
Who could forget last year when Nick Kyrgios interacted with actor Ben Stiller during his match?
So if you come out to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden this weekend, stay frosty. That guy sitting near you that kind of looks like a celebrity may actually be that celebrity.
