With the sound of basketballs on gym floors comes the preparation for fast pitch softball which is right around the corner.

The Siskiyou Heat is already working on schedules for the upcoming season and is opening registration. The Siskiyou Heat Softball Club is open to all girls 8-18 who want to play fast pitch softball through the summer, traveling to competitive tournaments playing against teams from California, Nevada and Oregon.

The teams are coached by certified ASA coaches whose goal is to teach and improve players’ skills in a competitive setting, according to club president Bill Pieruccini.

Registration forms can be found on their website: or by contacting Bill Pieruccini at 598-6289.

Registration fee is $175 per player with discounts for multi-player families.

“Even though it is winter outside it is very important to get signed up now so that summer schedules can be completed and we can be assured we have enough players to field teams in each of our age brackets,” wrote Pieruccini.

The U12 team coach will be Gerad Brasch and U14 coach is Blake Powers.

Pieruccini is available for any questions about the program at the above number, and information is available on the website.

“Travel ball,” according to the club, “is a great way to improve softball skills and experience some serious competition along with making new friends and HAVING FUN.”
