Spring has sprung, and April's full moon is named to celebrate it.

The "full pink moon" takes place April 19 and will peak at 7:12 a.m. EST.

Unfortunately, the moon itself won't be pink — the April moon is named such by native peoples for the "moss pink" flower that heralded the beginning of spring. It's also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon or the Fish Moon.
